Thomas Rice was born in Toledo Ohio in 1956 and was raised in Virginia Beach until he turned 16 when his family moved to West Virginia to care for his grandmother. He comes from a family legacy of faith and service to Christ. Through the prayers and efforts of his mother and other family members, he surrendered his life to the Lord at age 18 and shortly after, answered the call preach. He began his ministry in small local churches, nursing homes, and jails. He attended Bible College and received his BA in Biblical studies in 1985 and then attended Dallas Theological Seminary and received his Master of Theology degree in 1992.
During his time in college and seminary, he continued to minister in various churches through revivals, pulpit supply and part-time pastor positions. After graduating from seminary, he pastored several medium-size churches and then became a chaplain with a hospice agency and pastored a small church at the same time. He was a hospice chaplain/pastor for 10 years. Tom genuinely cares for people and feels that by helping them, especially during times of need, they will see the love of God and this will either strengthen their faith (if they are Christians) or compel them to seek a relationship with Jesus Christ. Tom has been married for 32 years and has three children and two grandchildren so he understands the value of family relationships. He has extensive counseling experience with marriage & family and death & grief. ext.
